We have been notified of a customer receiving a fraudelent email with an attachment. Always be aware of emails asking for personal information or account information. Cleveland State Bank or other financial institutions will NEVER ask for personal information.
DO NOT OPEN ATTACHMENTS!!!! This may give the criminal access to your pc or other information
Here is a sample of a fraudulent email:
(the errors are as written in the email)
"This email was send by bankatcsb.com to notify you that we have temporanly prevented access to you account.
We have reasons to beleive that your account may have been accessed by someone else. Please run attached file and follow instructions."
Call Cleveland State Bank immediately if you receive this email or a similar email.

Cell Phone Phishing Attack
A new phishing attack is currently taking place in Wisconsin. Consumers report receiving automated calls that claim to be from a bank, but no specific institution is mentioned. The message says that your debit card has been compromised and prompts you to press 1 to be connected with the unnamed bank's security department. You are then asked to enter your debit card account number and PIN number.
HANG UP and call Cleveland State Bank immediately!

There seems to be a recent rash of new attacks targeting cell phone text messaging and debit cards. Please warn your children about this immediately.
It has not been reported in our area yet but be aware if you or your children receive a text that may say something like this:
"This is an automated message from [local credit union or bank name]. Your ATM card has been suspended, to reactivate call urgent at 1-866-924-0071!!!! "
Calling a number like this will likely prompt for the debit card number and pin to reactivate.
Contact Cleveland State Bank immediately if you recieve a suspicious text message.
***Cleveland State Bank or any other financial institution will NEVER request customer account, card, or PIN information via your home phone or any electronic devices.

Cleveland State Bank wants to make you aware of a telephone scam taking place in the Midwest.
A fraudster calls consumers and, using the name of local banks, claims that their credit cards have been suspended. The caller asks for the credit card numbers in order to process new cards.
Cleveland State Bank or any other financial institution will NEVER request account, card, or PIN information over the phone, or via e-mail.
If you receive a call requesting personal financial information, hang up and alert us immediately.
